Our annual Native American Festival promises to be the better than ever this year. Come listen to the old stories, see the colorful Native American Regalia, and enjoy the music. Again this year, we are honored to have the Cherokee educator and native culturist, Diamond Brown, who created the educational field trip program called “Touch the Earth with Native People” that tells the story of the Native Americans and their culture from the Native perspective. He is also involved in other educational endeavors.

Our talented cast of diverse characters will come alive to delight our patrons once more, along with exciting new acts. Gossiping washerwomen, bellowing town criers, mischievous fools and swashbuckling sword fighters fill the street with color and merriment bringing our magical Renaissance village to life.

The Atlanta Arts Festival is set against the stunning backdrop of historic Piedmont Park and features over 200 artists from around the country, live demonstrations, entertainment, hands-on activities, festival food, beverages and more. The artist market is free and open to the public.

Los Angeles based band Orgone is many souls with a cosmic connection, a natural creative force and musicians who have played together for years. They are self schooled and continue to shape their musical voice as a solid unit of guys who hang, spin records and jam out their shared inspirations. With a rooted sense of funk, soul, afrobeat, deep rhythms and an intimate understanding of dj culture as well as each others’ individual talents, Orgone seamlessly slides through multiple styles and dynamic performances.

The City of DeKalb will hold its 32nd Annual DeKalb Corn Fest on Friday, August 21 through Sunday, August 23, 2009 at DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport.
Corn Fest is one of the last remaining free music festivals among Illinois music festivals in Illinois. Corn Fest is also one of the oldest summer music festivals in Illinois. Well over 120,000 people from around Illinois and the Midwest attend the music festival over a three day weekend. This festival is going to be the best of all the 2009 music festivals. Admission to the festival is free.

This is the third time the Convention has been held in Columbus (1973, 1997, and now 2009), and we are looking forward to hosting a fantastic convention for you. The contest committee is working hard to ensure that every possible need has been anticipated prior to the show, and most importantly, we are putting plans in place to deal with any unforeseen situations which might arise.
